Miranda Writes 29 - Overcoming The Fear...

All this year, I am keeping a video diary about writing and publishing my sixth novel, I'll Take New York. This week, I have another #getinvolved challenge for Book Seven and talk about facing The Fear as a writer...

I'm getting back to work after a few wonderful months of new-mum-hood and this week have been checking the page proofs for I'll Take New York - which has been lovely and scary in equal measure. It made me think about The Fear - a phenomenon known only too well to writers. How do you keep writing when the doubts creep in? When the inspiration won't come and you're staring at a blank page? In this week's vlog, I talk about how I tackle The Fear.

Talking of finding inspiration, have YOU booked your ticket for one of my WriteFoxy! Writers' Inspiration Days in November and February yet? They're going fast for both dates, so don't miss your chance to be inspired, fired up and have your love of writing rekindled by an amazing line-up of speakers. All the details are HERE...

So, here's this week's vlog - enjoy!

p.s. This week's YouTube-nominated freeze-frame is entitled, 'Si-i-i-i-i-i-i-i-ing!'

I do love your vlogs, I do!

I always feel The Fear when I read my MS back, after I've been writing all day. I usually think it's utter rubbish, and start to wonder what I've been doing for the last eight hours! I have to make myself close the document and read it through the next day (when it usually doesn't seem quite so dire!)

I'd love to ask about your experience of writing with and without an agent. What the benefits and drawbacks are? We ran out of time in the Google Hangout, and I'd really love to hear what you have to say!

Wow! I feel as if I have been missing out on something extremely fabulous! What a fabulous idea of getting readers more emotionally connected to your books! So innovative. Love ita,! I wish more American authors would get as involved with social media and the community as the UK authors seem to do. We are supposed to be forward thinking... Anywho! Loved it! My first view, certainly NOT my last!! Lovely!

I've just watched your vlog. I found it really interesting. I'm looking forward to reading I'll Take New York.

I've also signed up for one of the Writer's Inspiration Days so I'm hoping this will help me re-connect with my writing.
